Christopher D. Carey, CFREChristopher D. Carey is President of the Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation leading fundraising for 5 Centura Health Adventist hospitals in Colorado. He loves his career and finds it a privilege to daily connect big hearts with compelling projects to help thousands of lives.
Prior to Centura Health, Chris served in a variety of leadership roles in higher education, most recently as vice president for advancement and strategic planning at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee. He also worked in Ghana as Vice President of Advancement and Director of Ecological Development to grow the first accredited private university in the country, Valley View University helping thousands of African students to better their lives, families and communities. A further career highlight is working to provide and support a clean water system for 5 villages in southern Ghana. Other social profit leadership and volunteer roles have taken him to Europe, Asia, South America, Africa and across the States. Chris holds a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, and bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Public Relations from Andrews University. Since 1998, Chris has held the distinction of being a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). In his free time, Chris enjoys running, volunteering, exploring big ideas, cross-cultural exchange, outdoor activities, planting anything that grows, and spending time with his wife and two daughters. |
